Mizuno Wave Sky
A preview of the latest highly cushioned shoe from Mizuno.
The Mizuno Wave Sky is brand new shoe from Mizuno, replacing the Enigma, their big cushioning shoe. The Sky is all about plush cushioning as well, with a similar ride to the Glycerin
While there’s a lot of foam, it delivers a responsiveness underfoot. Mizuno shoes typically have a firmer, performance-oriented ride. You get that here, but you also get a lot of cushioning.
There’s two different layers of foam the full length of the shoe, so you get a good soft landing and a nice firm toe off.
You still have the Wave plate on both sides. It’s got this new design from Mizuno with the convex shape right under the heel, so when you land you push down into that plastic a little bit and pop back up. Gives you that responsive feeling while aiding in the cushioning.
Up top, you see what looks like traditional construction. There’s a lot of stitched-on overlays, especially through the midfoot. That will give you a nice hold, with well-ventilated mesh in the forefoot to let your foot breath.
